I am just testing a post as a guest to see how the new default avatar for guests has turned out, and if it's working properly

I edited to add: when trying to start a thread I have run into this "I am not a robot" thing, is there any way to disable that so that a guest does not have to go thru that step?

Nope. That cannot be disabled. That is to keep bots out of here that distribute spam. We see but very little of that at ProBoards. A bot cannot perform that task. Takes a real human.
