We can use this thread to post useful code for future reference
I was going to paste a code in this first post but then decided to leave it blank

ok, Then the Pit Stop shall stay on the main board, thank you for your opinion.
I'm wondering about, like at Yuku, there was a place to put a description of the group, which helps for search engine optimization, I have not found that in the Admin section here, is there such a feature?
I'm also curious how to get into the ProBoards Directory Search www.proboards.com/forum-directory ? Your group nor mine pull up in the directory search. I'm surprised your group doesn't pull up, but I'm not surprised Cruise Inn doesn't pull up because it's still new.
Bump

Foxy, I've got a 2 part question for you in this post.
In the screen shot below, I added the Special Member and the Guest to the Member Groups. In the member groups, there is not a group for "Members", and I am wondering why that is?
Then, back when I added those 2 group names I was not aware that you can "Edit" the powers. So I am wondering if you are able to start threads, move threads, edit your posts, delete your posts, etc?
If you view the screen shot below you will understand what has made me ask this question too
I'm still trying to learn things here at ProBoards

Those groups and names are not what I used when I first came here. I had long term members with high total posting numbers and I was able to transfer those numbers over from Yuku to ProBoards. With their high numbers, I used "Member Ranks" rather than "Member Groups."

The member group powers are not powers you want members to have. They will be automatically assigned to moderators and admins. You can, if you wish, assign whatever powers you want to for certain groups of people. I would not assign powers to anyone that I did not want to take liberties with changing the board.
I know now where your Jr Member ID came from. As I suspected, it changed when you hit 50 posts in the Castle.
You were a Super Star with post #1.
You might use the group names on my latest screenshot to guide you when you add your member groups to your list.

Thank You for That Helpful Information, I'm still learning things here at ProBoards, and you have been wonderful
As it shows a purple star for super star, mine are black in your group, how did you do that?
Are you able to start threads, move threads, edit your posts, delete your posts, etc? Even though it shows No in those boxes for the Special Member. I need to make sure you can do everything you want to do in this group.
I am going to get rid of the ads today, do you think I should send out a PM or email to the old members of HotRod Cruise Inn at Yuku? To try and get a few members here

No Richard. You can't get your old members back. It is too late. Yuku is gone and people were not automatically made members of TT. They had to join TT. I have had to make some changes in my member ranks. I believe they originally had only 4 ranks listed, New, Junior, Full, and Senior. In the beginning, I just plugged in some Ranking Names in a hurry. When you went from 1 post to 50 posts, it appeared you had been demoted. LOL!! You might say I needed to get my ducks in a row....in the right order....and now I have done that. It is good that I had reason to go back and look at this again. The list below shows the changes I had to make to get things right.
In your group, I can start new threads, edit and delete my own threads. I cannot move threads, but I should not need to do that in your group.

I named mine for things that kind of fit into my Fantasy theme. You might like to rank yours according to ranks of drivers in the racing world if there are that many classes of driver....or you can use the same as mine if you wish. I changed your stars to black stars to match your avatar. I did that in "Member Groups." I may have to look at that again after adjusting my ranks.

ok, so my guess is that when I scroll down the member list at Yuku, the members that still have an Avatar Image show next to them, have possibly rejoined and might get a message I send out?
I can try it on your profile at Yuku, sending a message to see if it works for you. I might like to do that just so you can read what I've written and see if you approve or if I should make any changes that you feel are appropriate. I have test sent the message to myself, and it came in to my email address instead of a PM. TT really has things screwed up over there. So let me know if I should send a test message to you from your Yuku Profile.

Richard, Yuku profiles no longer exist. There are only TT profiles.
But wait a minute!! Are you really seeing Yuku profiles? Go ahead and send me a message and I will see what you have to say.

Well, In my members area I show 43 members, some of the Avatars show as the ghost image, and some of the members show a Avatar they would have used before. One of them, Lynnie for example, her avatar still shows.
I sent the message to both you and I
I received my copy in my regular email address on file with Yuku or TT, I hope you did too

I did receive your email, Richard, and I would say, send it to all who have an active avatar on display. I think your message is fine. You explained things quite well. It would be wonderful if you could get back some old members. Here's hoping you can reach some of them.

Did the link in the email to this Cruise Inn work for you, it did on my email that I received?
At TT they recommend adding my personal email in the letter do to the fact that no one can reply to that message. Should I add my personal email to that letter? I will wait to send out any messages until I hear from you on that thought

Sorry, I forgot to answer that. Yes, the link works just fine. Do you have an alternate email account that is separate to the one you use for business and private things?
If you do, use that one. If not, set one up at Gmail. It only takes a minute or two.
